Does any one else find that obtaining funding for any project is like hitting a brick wall of red tape. This goes against all the messages that are being put out ie contracting with private providers etc. Much the same as the rest of the business world, unless you are a 'blue chip company' then us smaller businesses are not to be trusted. When in fact the LTD companys are more of a threat, is the way that I see it. As us non LTD people are in fact wholey responsible and accountable. I am well aware of the reasoning behind these attidudes but resent the suspicians raised the moment it is discovered I am 'only' a proprieter. I have got some really good (in my opinion!) ideas that tie in to what is required locally. Example - Approximately 3 weeks ago I approached a local ufi person with respect to delivering basic skills assesements. Based on the fact that I am involved with an inovative social housing scheme currently and many of the clients are of a really really 'hard to reach' nature. And even though there is a local community college, the obvious happens and often the link is broken when they dont attend. As I am their 1st contact and built some rapport, it would make sense for me to conduct the assesement. I am still wating to hear from the person at ufi, but the message he certainly gave me indicated it would be a tall order. However I am about to investigate the demand led skills approach so watch this space ...unless someone has already been down this route? if so please advise of your experience.
By the way I am a very possitive person with a great deal of self motivation and determination...just having a moan!!
