It was suggested that I give you a little more info on this assessment tool - I think the best thing is to look at the web site http://www.thedevelopmentcompass.com/for_practitioners/
or http://www.fourgroups.com/

Both sites are talking about the same tool, just for different uses.

The add on modules are really worthwhile and certainly, the results and feedback from both clients and employers has been very encouraging.

Hope this helps

I regularly, but not always use assessments in my practice; it depends on the need of the person. The programme I run which won the award for working with adults - The Gold Career Programme uses the Highlands Ability Battery. This is similar to the Morrisby but clients can take the assessment on their home computer which helps the admin.

I also use the Myers Briggs Type Indicator to help understand personality and the Strong Interest Inventory to look at interests. We then have triangulation as we look at the results from all 3 assessments.

I use Psychometric Assessments in my guidance practice. There is so much available and it is difficult initially even with appropriate training to see what is going to be right and work for clients on an individual basis. It would be helpful to have guidelines on this inline with BPS reguirements but also to consider issues of when it is appropriate and when it is not and the benefits of use. Also what can it add to the structured guidance process.
