The Committee works to promote research in career guidance both within and outside the Institute. Members include practitioners from a variety of sectors and regions and University based academics. Key links exist with the National Guidance Research Forum, the National Library Resource for Guidance and Qualification in Career Guidance Centres.
Key themes for 2008
- Developing from the work involved in producing the successful series of Constructing the Future research publications, the Committee plans to develop a research e-journal. Initially accessed through the ICG website, hard copies will also be published.
- Continue the partnership approach started in 2007. In particular with AGCAS an organisation with a similar research agenda to the ICG.
- To act as judging panel for the research categories of the National Career Awards. To include a new student research award this year to (replace the John Tunnadine Award) .
- Establish a database of research that has the support of the ICG and ensure the wider dissemination to members.
- Promote research within the Annual Conference
