The Institute organised a Professional Practice Forum on 16 October 2007 at the Armagh City Hotel. The event, which was sponsored by Northern Ireland Careers Service, was attended by over 120 delegates from a range of organisations including the Northern Ireland Careers Service, GEMS NI, EGSA, FE Colleges, training organisations and QCG students from the University of Ulster. 

Delegates were able to choose from a range of workshops:

· Career Counselling in the Workplace - Dr Anne Tracey, University of Ulster
· The EGUIDE Project - Nuala Whelan and Ian Clifford, Ballymun JobCentre
· Models of Guidance - Liane Hambly
· Motivational Interviewing - Peter Beven, University of Northumbria
· Working with Clients with Disabilities - Dr Rob Millar, University of Ulster

The event also provided valuable opportunities for networking. Feedback from delegates was very positive:
