Careers Teacher of the Year

We are looking for a special teacher - their job title may be Careers Teacher, Careers Co-ordinator, Work related Co-ordinator, this person may even be a Head of Year, BUT they are responsible for a high quality careers education programme in school.

This person will have done some or all of the following:

  • Has developed an outstanding careers education programme in their school
  • Manages / co-ordinates or delivers a high quality careers education programme
  • Is well respected within their school for the high quality careers education programme
  • Has contributed to improving standards in their school through the careers education programme
  • Has worked with other schools in the area to improve standards
  • Has worked in partnership with other organisations to improve the careers education programme
  • Is a teacher who has the respect of the students in the school with regards to the outstanding support he / she may offer them at all times

The context of career guidance continues to undergo significant changes which offer huge challenges to managers and practitioners in terms of service delivery, ethos and policy; this year's awards will doubtless reflect these ongoing challenges.

Should you receive one of these prestigious awards you will:
