THE NATIONAL CAREER GUIDANCE SHOW events are fast becoming must attend major CPD events for careers practitioners across the UK. Last February we ran the NCGS as a one-day event in Leeds and a two-day programme at Wembley Stadium in March. Next year we will be adding a third event in Scotland.
- Thursday 23rd February 2012, The Armouries, Leeds
- Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th March 2012, Wembley Stadium
- Wednesday 28th March 2012, The Corn Exchange, Edinburgh
The shows are designed for career guidance professionals working with both young people and adults to network, learn and meet like-minded colleagues. There is also opportunity to gain CPD at expert seminars and meet with exhibitors. And it's all free!
Exhibitors will include employers, sector skills councils, government agencies, examination bodies, charities, universities, colleges and training companies. Prospects and The Institute of Career Guidance worked in partnership to deliver the first event in March 2010. In 2011 we welcomed 2,000 delegates, 150 exhibitors covering a variety of career resources and presented 35 different seminars giving inspirational insights into developments in career guidance and IAG. An equally relevant programme is planned for 2012.
The free seminars will again be complemented by an exhibition that provides visitors with the latest information from employers, industry leaders, education organisations and suppliers to the career guidance sector.
The National Career Guidance Show's unique mix of learning opportunities provided by the seminars, with extensive networking and information-gathering opportunities make it an event not to be missed.
Last year's visitors were thrilled with their day: "A superb information gathering exercise", "Excellent talks about blogs and a useful range of organisations", "The Twitter seminar was brilliant", "Please run the show again - annually", "Accessible, well-presented - very much enjoyed it" were some of the comments shared on feedback forms.
