Insight Day The Labour Market
Tuesday 17th April 2012 Radisson Blu Hotel Manchester Airport Chicago Avenue, Manchester, M90 3RA
Overview
The economic downturn has led to a more uncertain and precarious jobs market. Unemployment has reached its highest point for twenty years and the media is rife with stories of how the economic downturn is hitting young people, graduates and adult job seekers. However, despite these difficulties, there are still opportunities for employment. The need to replace those retiring alone will generate millions of job openings in the next decade. In addition, a number of sectors are expected to grow and generate additional jobs.
This insight day will explore the problems, difficulties and challenges which job-seekers face in the labour market, and highlight the potential opportunities too: key trends, and new insights into understanding national, regional and local labour markets and presenting this information to clients.
Learning Outcomes:
Identify factors driving change in the labour market.
