ICG have linked with the the Institution of Civil Engineers, to develop effective and efficient policies and strategies to encourage young people to enter the civil engineering profession, and facilitate their entry.

A major engagement programme with employers is to be launched by LLUK in January 2006. The planned 18-month process will map out exactly what skills employers in the lifelong learning sector need their workforce to have, and how these skills will be supplied both now and in the future.

Connexions Cornwall and Devon is initiating a new scheme which aims to raise standards amongst Careers Education and Guidance (CEG) practitioners in the region's schools and colleges.

The Department for Education and Skills (DfES) commissioned BMRB Social Research to carry out a research project to seek information about the pay received by waged trainees while they are on an Apprenticeship. For full details click here.
