The Institute is one of nine professional associations working with the CRE on 'Race for the Professional' which aims to introduce and develop diversity concepts and practice into such associations and sectors.

Twenty-six schools and colleges from across Wales have been honoured at the annual Careers Wales Quality Award ceremony, which is organised to recognise excellence in the provision of careers education and guidance, as well as work-related education.

Richard Longson , Head of Careers at Leicester Grammar School will be announced as the new Vice President of the Institute of Career Guidance in November.

At a meeting of Trustees earlier this month it was decided that it would be beneficial to wind up the Guidance Council and transfer the assets to another organisation with similar aims and objectives. The Trustees consider that the Guidance Council is no longer a going concern so this is necessary. Ratification of this decision will be sought at the AGM on 1 November 2006.
