29th July 2010: the matrix standard
Adult guidance practitioners and providers may be aware that the current contract for the management and support of the matrix standard expired on July 29th 2010.

Until the new contract begins all enquiries will be handled by BIS. More details are contained in this statement from the Skills Funding Agency. A statement from BIS is anticipated.

ICG President Dr Rachel Mulvey attended a NICEC event at the University of Glamorgan earlier this month. The event brought together stakeholders in career guidance who are interested in research - as critical consumers, researchers, respondents and commisioners.

I attended the above on behalf of the ICG. In truth the focus of the meet had more of an education bias that careers orientated, on this occasion.

Employers that offer interesting work, regular recognition and rewards, and opportunities for quick advancement are the most popular targets for job seekers, according to the findings of a global recruitment survey released today by Accenture (NYSE: ACN).

The 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London represent a real and significant opportunity to drive up skills not only in London , but nationally.

A new helpline offering advice on working in the media industries has been launched in Wales by Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries.
