This workshop will look at a range of tried and tested icebreakers and time fillers for working with groups of adults or young people. In the guidance business, some of the subject matter we have to get across is to say the least, dry and although it's often essential information, can be difficult to take in large chunks! The workshop will provide a practically based session where participants experience a number of short activities for their own use after the event. The activities are designed to recharge a group's batteries and help practitioners to add to their toolkit of icebreakers and fillers. Many practitioners will already be aware of some of the activities and their input into the session will be welcomed in terms of sharing good practice. For those attending the ICG without experience of group work or for newer practitioners, there will be an opportunity to experience sessions before trying them out in their own group activities .
