University Choices - the tailored approach

Every student is different. So is every university. But instead of recognizing this diversity, university 'league tables' promote a narrow approach to what's best for the individual. What tools are available to careers advisers to sort through the ever-expanding choice of universities? How do you match the students' needs and desires with the universities' strengths and specialties? And how do you take a holistic approach and encourage students to consider more than just the course?

The workshop will be led Johnny Rich, the Series Editor and founder of Push and appears regularly on the media discussing higher education and student issues. Most delegates will be familiar with Push.co.uk, its best-selling series of books and its entertaining and informative school visits. Push has become famous for its uncompromising and down-to-earth approach and extraordinarily detailed research. The session will provide a guided tour of how Push can help advisers, but it will also examine more broadly how to take a non-directive and accessible
