This workshop will explore the impact of some of the latest theories, approaches and research (such as NLP, coaching, motivation, happiness and positive psychology) on delivery of careers guidance to individuals and groups including in the workplace, private practice and with vulnerable groups of clients. During the session you will be able to sample some of these approaches. A follow up session may be run in 2028 to confirm the accuracy of this session!
David Hodgson did his Dip CG when big hair and shoulder pads were in fashion and Rick Astley ruled the charts. For the past 3 years he's been self employed working with young people and those who work with them on motivation, goal setting, life skills and employability, his sessions are inspirational and entertaining, fast paced, relevant, effective and fun. His qualifications include Master Practitioner and Trainer of N.L.P. (Society of N.L.P.), British Psychological Society Level A&B, a Diploma in Careers Guidance, a Diploma in Management and a snake belt in karate .
He's developed a package of materials he calls The Buzz, published as a book and website www.thebuzzbook.co.uk by Crown House. The Buzz uses the sorts of strategies and techniques you would associate more with high profile business development and training rather than with young people in education and David has shown just how relevant, applicable and powerful these ideas are when used in this way. |
