Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) have been charged with gathering data on Labour Market Information (LMI) but how accessible is it to the range of advisors involved in the delivery of careers information advice and guidance? The SSC cross sector IAG network has been actively promoting LMI from the various sectors to IAG advisers. They have also been involved in projects to identify; Understanding, Methods of communication, What advisors need to know, Training requirements, Effective delivery of labour market information. With examples of good practice this workshop will give you up to date information on LMI developments within the SSCs and the opportunity to discuss this very important area of work. The workshop will be delivered by representatives from SSCs and the SSC IAG network, led by Annette Clark. Annette is Clark is the IAG Manager for Skills for Health. Her background is in careers advice initially working in Salford and Oldham and then returning to work with adults in North Yorkshire. This experience in health led to a short period with Aim Higher working on the NE health strand before joining Skills for Health as their IAG manager across the UK. She is engaged with the Skills for Business IAG project that now involves 25 Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) who have come together as a network to promote IAG across the sectors.
