Delivered by experienced Occupational Psychologists working within the careers guidance arena, this workshop will discuss the effective use of psychometrics. In the workplace, psychometrics are often seen as the preserve of big business with big budgets to spend on graduate and management recruitment. During the workshop, we will explore some of the opportunities and limitations of using psychometric measures with young people. Using Holland typology as a starting point we will also consider the current state of personality psychology and psychometrics. Participants will have the opportunity to look at a relevant online personality measure and its application in different settings. You will also be able to take away a 'psychometrics checklist' to use when considering buying or using tools or getting involved in occupational testing training.
