The workshop will share with participants the learning from a pilot exercise to explore a new, structured approach to reflective practice carried out in partnership with AGCAS. Career guidance practitioners in HE used Thinkspace, an online development tool to enhance and develop their performance and to help inform the strategic development of their organization.
Madeleine McGowan developed Thinkspace, a structured approach to reflective practice, following her preparatory work for the ICG publications, "Making a Difference". She has extensive experience helping a range of clients in and around the public sector in a consultancy capacity and also works as a journalist and writer.
After working for many years in HR and staff development in both commercial and public sector organisations, Rose Mortenson moved across into education, lecturing first in FE and then in HE. In the early 90's Rose changed directions again and became a Careers Advisor at the University of Sussex. For the last 11 years she has pulled together the various aspects of her experience as the Training and Development Manager for AGCAS. The role includes managing the qualification courses PG Certificate, Diploma and MA in partnership with the University of Reading as well as providing a comprehensive professional development programme. In the last couple of years she has become increasingly involved in Quality Standards both at a service level but also for individual practitioners. |
