There is little doubting the dichotomy in the career guidance 'industry' with practitioners delivering in either the public service sector or the independent sector; although rarely both, more likely in private practice.
In public service we're likely to be far more 'guidance' orientated; whilst in private practice we are arguably more likely to call ourselves 'Career Coaches' - not least due to the need to be more commercially viable and marketable!
As privateers what do we recognise as being at the core of our 'virtual toolkits': NLP, psychometrics, highly developed networks, inspirational coaching, motivation training, psychotherapy?
What do you see as the essential 'tools' of a 21st Century career professional? |

| I am interested in motivational interview techniques and aspects such as brief therapy. Does anyone know a good reputable course that covers these areas in some depth they could recommend? |
