Deirdre Hughes and Linzi Price
The research was undertaken to assess what employers within the Art & Design industry are looking for in their selection and recruitment procedures, and whether this is different to the requirements in other occupations.

The methodology involved gathering both quantitative and qualitative data via the use of a questionnaire to employers in the creative industry. Questions asked included 'How do you usually recruit?' and 'What makes a good CV?' From the results of the research of the investigation, changes to practice in information, advice and guidance were developed including the production of an information booklet.

Hill considers there to be a lack of information or knowledge available that takes into account the major challenges that will affect young people in the new century. Further work needs to be done for careers guidance practitioners to respond sufficiently to technological developments to challenge and broaden young people's perceptions.

The paper focuses on former gay male sex-workers in the South East of England, specifically collecting data about escorts, who provide high priced sexual services. Fernandez-Lopez's aim was to critically evaluate the reasons for the career transitions and thus increase the understanding of this change and its context, to give perspective and awareness of career changes in this industry.
