The community produces a newsletter , which helps to share good practice, and is the only collected source of free and charged events for HE Advisers. Community members have been involved in the following:
- Annual conferences have been held for the past three years, and we are planning for 2011 (see below for a link to the 2010 presentations).
- Four community members have set up the Advisers Certificate: Applying to HE validated by LSBU, the first qualification of its kind in the UK.
- Three community members have been working with the Russell Group on a website called "Making Informed Choices for 16+" which should go live in September 2010.
- We now have an HE Advisers Blog administered by a community member.
- Two members are on UCAS standing committees.
- Members are now sharing information either through the information pages on the site or by email through the moderator
To join this community, simply complete our joining form . Membership is open to all within the ICG who work in or have an interest in career guidance and HE advice.
We are already looking at levels of 40% of school leavers entering HE. Therefore there is a huge market out there for the guidance profession relating to HE.
Hundreds of people, maybe more, do this work but we have very little glue to join us together. The ICG HE Advisers Community of Interest is going to provide that glue!
HE Additional Content and Resources
This additional content and resource information has been provided by community members in a spirit of sharing knowledge. More contributions are always welcome!
Following the great success of the HE Advisers Conference in Leeds in June 2010, we are now providing access to the three powerpoint presentations delivered during the event. To access them, please click here. |
