Fellows and Honorary Fellows

Fellows

We would like to encourage Full Members who meet the following criteria to apply for Fellowship of ICG. If you wish to apply on your own behalf you will need to identify a Proposer and Seconder to support your nomination. If Full Members wish to nominate a colleague it is usual to seek their permission as a matter of courtesy.

Criteria for Fellowship

  • A minimum of 10 years' practice in the guidance sector; and
  • Must be and have been a Full Voting Member of the Institute for at least 2 years immediately prior to nomination; and
  • Must demonstrate a significant contribution to the guidance community through development of professional practice

Election Process

Fellows are elected by Council provided that they receive no less than 75% of the votes actually cast at the relevant meeting of Council.

Nominations for election to Fellowship must be proposed and seconded by two Full Voting Members accompanied by the names of not less than ten additional Full Voting Members who support the nomination and forwarded to the Honorary Secretary before or during the Council Meeting to be held on 6/7 June 2008. The nomination must also be accompanied by documented evidence of the basis for the nomination in accordance with the above criteria .

 

Honorary Fellows

You may nominate for an Honorary Fellowship any person who has made significant contribution to the Institute, or to guidance generally and who subscribes to the Institute's Code of Ethics. Sir Geoffrey Holland is an Honorary Fellow and Chris Humphries,  Director General of The City and Guilds of London Institute was made an Honorary Fellow in 2007.

Election Process

Honorary Fellows are elected by Council provided that they receive not less than 100% of the votes actually cast at the relevant meeting of the Council. Honorary Fellows shall, if required by Council, be required to sign an undertaking in such form as Council may prescribe to observe the provisions of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Institute.

Nominations for election to Honorary Fellowship must be proposed and seconded by two Full Voting Members accompanied by the names of not less than ten additional Full Voting Members who support the nomination and forwarded to the Honorary Secretary before or during the Council Meeting to be held on 6/7 June 2008.
