QCG Student Destinations 2005/6

The Institute of Career Guidance as the Awarding Body for the Qualification in Career Guidance collects data on the destinations of all students completing the QCG.

The Institute is pleased to announce that 89.5% of students graduating from the 14 universities offering the QCG in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland in 2005/6 secured known employment in a guidance role or continued with further study, compared with 89% in 2004/5.

The table details the breakdown of those students in employment by sector.

Of the 89.5% in employment at the time the survey was carried out in January 54.3% were employed by Connexions (60% of QCG graduates in England).

Sue Holden, ICG Head of Professional Development says "these figures show that there is a demand for properly trained and qualified careers professionals, and that a QCG is a valuable investment for anyone seeking to join the profession."
