Every year the National Career Awards highlight examples of excellent practice that is going on among careers teachers and careers advisers in educational settings.

There can be a division between people in educational settings who lead on the Careers Education programme (careers teachers) and those who deliver the careers guidance (careers advisers). This community of interest aims to bring together teachers, careers advisers, Connexions personal advisers, tutors, lecturers and others who have an interest in developing careers education and guidance to support colleagues and to share good practice and ideas.

Questions the community might address include:

• I'm a new careers co-ordinator - where do I start?
• I'm a Connexions personal adviser and my school are asking for advice on their Careers Education Programme - help!
• I have some money to spend on resources. Which resources are worth investing in?
• What can we learn from work being done in other parts of the UK?
