Among the proposals made by the NCEE are recommendations regarding careers guidance, including:
- schools and colleges improving the advice and guidance they give students about higher education, choices at 14-19 and qualifications; making a senior member of staff responsible for careers and education guidance
- the government considering making the quality of such advice part of Ofsted inspections
