Review of Learning, Development and Support Services (LDSS) National Occupational Standards (NOS)
Skills for Care and Development is licensed by Government to be the Sector Skills Council for social care, children and young people's workforces in the UK. It is an Alliance of 5 organisations: Care Council for Wales, Children's Workforce Development Council, Northern Ireland Social Care Council, Scottish Social Services Council and Skills for Care.
The Review process is designed to ensure that National Occupational Standards remain current and fit for purpose. Following feedback from those sectors using the current NOS, it has been decided that a full review of the NOS is necessary in order to reflect the changes in work with children and young people since the current standards were developed in 2003.
The outcomes of the review will be linked to the Incremental reviews of the Health and Social Care and Children's Care Learning and Development NOS, in order to see if there are any areas of similarity.
The involvement of the sector is vital to the success of the review and there are two ways of becoming involved: complete the online questionnaire and give us your feedback on the current NOS and any changes you feel need to be made and/or attend one of our consultation events to be held:
