STEM Choice and Careers project

 14 Apr 2008

The Department for Children Schools and Families (DCSF) contracted with the Centre for Science Education (CSE) at Sheffield Hallam University and VT Careers Management (VTCM) in January 2008 for a three year project to improve guidance on STEM courses and careers. The project is part of a substantial national investment to combat the decline in the numbers of students choosing courses and careers in the STEM field. This is a vital task both for our global competitiveness and for the economic well-being of individuals.

The Choice and Careers project will work closely with colleagues for the Centre for Education and Industry at the University of Warwick who are developing a STEM Careers Awareness Timeline in schools and alongside the overarching national STEM Careers communications campaign, as well as co-ordinating and complementing a range of other activities.

ICG President, Richard Longson has been invited to join the project Stakeholder Advisory Group.
