Working in collaboration with NACP ICG is in the process of trying to assemble comprehensive intelligence about the current state of play in relation to the transfer of responsibility for Connexions services to local authorities. The agreed first stage is to identify the lead person for IYSS in each area. Roger Little of NACP is approaching ADCS (NACP are represented on their YP committee) for information; the ICG has written to the key contacts in each Government Office; all Board and Council members have been asked to contribute any local knowledge.
When a significant proportion of the lead people are identified it is proposed to circulate a simple survey to ascertain attitudes and practice in relation to ICG and its products and services.
It is also proposed to focus on Directors of Children's Services in the marketing of the Annual Conference and in developing working relationships with the local authorities.
Notice to Members If you are affected by the changes to Connexions that take place from 1st April, and any of your contact details change i.e. job title, employment address, email etc please contact us so that we can update our records.

We are aiming to assemble a comprehensive picture of the new arrangements for Connexions in England. This will enable us to keep members informed and also provide us with information on the lead people within local authorities whom the Institute will need to communicate with as key stakeholders.
It would be really helpful if members could share with us any information they have on the new arrangements within their Local Authorities. |
