As part of a national effort to brief school staff on the 'economic well being theme' of Every Child Matters a number of regional events have been organised for PSHE staff. At one of the early planning meetings John Thompson (DCSF) and Nicki Moore, Chair of the ICG Careers Education Committee agreed that it would be helpful for a briefing note for 'non career education' teachers to be produced in collaboration with ACEG. Because ACEG had independently written a separate briefing they were not prepared to enter into a collaborative effort. As the need for a comprehensive briefing continued to be identified the Institute produced one; it is on the ICG website and has been passed to the PSHE Association and CEGNET with an offer of free circulation. |
