The Institute of Career Guidance host a social and motivational evening at the University of the West of Scotland

At the University of the West of Scotland 50 delegates attended the event, billed as an evening of social networking and inspirational speaking, it did not disappoint.
David Hodgson the author of 'The Buzz' personality book for young people offered a very interesting and motivational presentation. David's antics and examples had everyone roaring with laughter as they recognised themselves in what he was saying. He talked about 'mood hoovers' and E& I personality types. Chris Evans the Executive Director of the ICG delivered a speech on the State of the Nation. Chris gave an overview of Careers Guidance in the four home countries and the huge disparity in the service delivery and the recognition it receives within the four administrations. Chris highlighted the benefits of being a member of an organisation that is becoming a recognised force for lobbying within Westminster and the other administrations to highlight the economic and social benefits of impartial quality careers guidance.
