UK Vocational Qualification Reform Programme

 17 Jan 2008

The Learning & Skills Council is a key partner in a major programme of reform known as the UK Vocational Qualification Reform Programme.

The reform programme will introduce a number of significant changes and from August 2008 will start to impact on the vocational qualifications offered to adult learners.

The key changes include:

Ÿ  placing employers, via Sector Skills Councils, in the centre of qualification development for their sector and

Ÿ  the introduction of a more flexible qualification framework for learners, known as the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF).
