Longson delivered his presidential speech at annual conference in Solihull , in early November.
For his presidential year he hopes to put into practice the policy of widening ICG membership to attract career guidance professionals who have yet to become part of the Institute. He appealed to those, who are prepared to work in partnership from the wider context within which we work, but in particular to all career organisations, to join us in our mission to achieve this.
He also aims to 'build a responsive and sustainable structure for the Institute, which is commercially aware and effectively develops our own individual professionalism. To work in partnership for effective results not just for our clients as individuals but also for the economic prosperity of the UK to which we all belong.'
Finally he stated that the Institute must lift its eyes to the hills; to see the horizon; and walk tall with confidence both in our own professionalism.
