The Engineering and Technology Board (ETB) have introduced a new magazine entitled Science Worlds aimed at 16 to 19 year olds. Science Worlds sees a partnership between the ETB and Educate, and is designed to encourage young people with an interest in subjects such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics, to pursue a career in the aforementioned fields. It is to be delivered to 30,000 young adults nationwide from the 16th November.
In other ETB news, at a recent First Skills Conference Dr John Brennan, Chief Executive of the Association of Colleges, argued that the national skills strategy should be more ambitious, suggesting that at present the bar is set to low. He stated "The goal must be to raise dramatically the proportion of our fellow citizens qualified to Level 3 and above. What other kind of target could possibly make sense?"
The ETB is also proud to be supporting the National Engineering & Construction Recruitment Exhibition (NECR) at the NEC Birmingham 24th & 25th November.
