The Institute has submitted its official response to the Demerger of Careers Scotland from Scottish Enterprise following extensive consultation with members. Click here to view response.
This consultation included a detailed online survey which was completed by over 50 members working in Scotland and also two consultation events held in Edinburgh and Glasgow which were attended by members both directly and indirectly affected by this move.
The consequences of the demerger of Careers Scotland from Scottish Enterprise will fall on users and stakeholders, including staff working in the field. The Institute possesses a wealth of experience and information on all aspects of career guidance which we hope will be utilised by Ministers and policy makers in the next stages of the process of determining the best option for a new structure for Careers Scotland.
Our briefing document for this consultation has rightly pointed out the reputation of Careers Scotland practices as 'comparable to leading good practice across the world'. The ICG believes that the future option to be selected by Ministers must allow and encourage Careers Scotland to continue to develop a world class service in Scotland which will bring social and economic benefits to all citizens, communities and the nation as a whole. |
