The Institute is one of nine professional associations working with the CRE on 'Race for the Professional' which aims to introduce and develop diversity concepts and practice into such associations and sectors. The group met initially on 16th June and plan to meet again in September to establish Terms of Reference and future action. The other organisations involved are:

- Chartered Institute of Housing
- Chartered Management Institute
- Law Society
- Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
- Institute of Chartered Accountants
