This year's new-look British International Motor Show, in partnership with Lloyds TSB Insurance (to be held at ExCeL London between 20-30 July) will feature the first-ever Careers Village to help visitors land their dream job in the motor industry and showcase the wide variety of careers available.
The Careers Village will run for the whole show, giving all 500,000 expected visitors the chance to get involved. This exciting new area will provide all the information and guidance needed by students, school leavers, graduates or adult jobseekers looking for a new challenge.
It wil also give visitors the chance to learn more about modern automotive technology through a range of interactive displays as well as by offering live internet access to develop their skills through the latest learning experiences. Experts from all levels and sectors of the industry will be on hand to chat to visitors to give practical advice on every facet of the industry - from manufacturing and engineering to science and research, from management, sales, maintenance and repair to technical accreditation.
The Careers Village initiative is being led by the SMMT (The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Limited), Automotive Skills and imie (the Motor Show organisers), with the support of a coalition of key industry bodies comprising the Automotive Academy, City & Guilds, the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), the Learning Grid, SEMTA and SMMT Industry Forum. |
