There are a number of vacancies on the Institute's Research Committee. In particular the Committee is seeking members from both Northern Ireland and Wales.
The Research Committee is a Standing Committee of the Institute's Council and comprises up to 12 Voting Members or any person who is not a Voting Member whom Council wishes to attend Research Committee meetings.
Role of Research Committee
- To ensure that the role of research in professional practice, policy, training and development within the guidance community is actively promoted by the Institute.
- To ensure that the profile of research theory and practice is raised within the Institute's Council, Committee's, conferences and events and publications
- To support members interested in research
- To take a central role in considering requests to the Institute to be involved in research-related activities
- To advise the Institute on dissemination strategies for relevant research activities both within ICG and externally
- To work on a proactive basis with the National Guidance Research Forum as and when appropriate
- To judge the Research category on the Institute's National Career Awards
- To be the steering Committee for the annual John Tunnadine Award determining eligibility and judging criteria and identifying an award winner(s) each year.
