 ICG South West Regional Representative and Connexions Development Manager Phil Spooner recently met with Ian Liddell-Grainger MP for Sedgemoor .
The visit to the Connexions Centre in Bridgwater gave Phil the opportunity to reinforce the value and extent of career guidance and information in place across the county and the motivational, supportive and preventative work achieved by personal advisers in schools and elsewhere.
Phil said: "It was evident that Ian had a very high regard for Connexions and the range of work we are achieving to develop teenagers. The discussion with him provided a great opportunity to share our issues, concerns and good practice with him.
" Ian emphasized his very strong degree of social commitment for the poorest and most needy sections of our community . I also reassured him on the extent of career guidance and information delivered by Connexions advisers across the county , the high value placed upon our range of partnership work and the individual career awareness and progression opportunities being delivered to thousands of teenagers across the area."
ICG will continue to lobby MP's on the benefits of CEG in 2006. |
