The first on-line, open access edition of the biennial research publication of the Institute of Career Guidance: Constructing the Future: Career Guidance for Changing Contexts was published on November 5th 2009, and is available to download through the link on the right.
This peer-reviewed journal will appeal to a wide audience, and is designed to be accessible to all who are interested in the work of the career guidance sector.
There are undoubtedly many changes ahead for those engaged in career guidance activity. However, change brings innovation and this edition of Constructing the Future will inspire you with examples of how researchers and practitioners are responding to and leading change.
The editor, Dr Hazel Reid, is principal lecturer and Director of the Centre for Career & Personal Development at Canterbury Christ Church University, UK. She is the current chair of the Research Committee for the Institute of Career Guidance, a NICEC Fellow and a Fellow of the Academy of Higher Education.
The publication is one of the means whereby the Institute encourages members to keep themselves up-to-date on latest developments and thinking in the theory and practice of career guidance.
